In One With The Horse
Have you ever been fascinated by beautiful elegant horses that run free in the pasture? They are quick in their reaction and moves freely in pure joy. They tum quickly, accelerates with a lot of energy and do transitions in perfect balance. They are focused and can effortlessly and elegant make the most amazing movements even as a foal.
How can it be that the horse manages to do these things with easy until a rider mounts him? Why is the horse sway or unbalanced, uneven in rhythm, distracted in the natural movement pattern in several gaits and/or mentally disturbed when the rider mounts?
To be in one with the horse is to sit relaxed and springy in balance without unnecessary effort in a safe and relaxed horse who wants to understand and execute what you want from him; dancing with ease together with the supple horse, free in his movement and with minimal use of aids because the horse is focused and wants to perform. A rider in one with his horse does not require more of the horse than it can perform and therefore the horse is always present and happy. The horse is never overloaded either mentally or physically.
To be in one with the horse means to be in the best possible physical and mental balance with yourself and the horse.
